Join MEA’s compliance experts for a virtual workshop to create your new handbook with real-time guidance from MEA’s compliance experts. Participants will create a new handbook based on MEA’s vetted template, with guidance and instruction from MEA’s Legal and Compliance team during the sessions.
By the end of this two-part virtual workshop, participants will have a customized, completed handbook that is ready to roll out.
How does it work?
One Week Prior to Training:
One week prior to the first workshop session, MEA will ask you to collect five key pieces of information about your organization. (Don’t worry, this information is mostly about how many employees your company has, where your company has physical locations, and whether your company does government contract or union work.) You will bring this information to Day One of the workshop.
Day One of the workshop is a four-hour session (plus a one-hour lunch break). During this session, you will be able to download MEA’s vetted handbook template for your state (PA or NJ). This handbook template has been vetted by MEA’s outside and internal employment attorneys. The template contains options for you to choose from and bits of information about which policies apply to your organization.
How will I know which policies to include and which options to select? During Day One, an MEA compliance professional will provide a guided tour of each section of the handbook template and will answer your questions about each section in real-time.
What if I need personalized guidance? For questions requiring more personalized guidance or added privacy, a second MEA compliance professional will meet with you in a virtual breakout room that is connected to the workshop, but separate from the group session. MEA will have a virtual producer on-hand throughout the session to move participants in to and out of breakout rooms and to help with technical issues, as needed.
What will I accomplish on Day One? At the end of Day One, you will have a rough draft of your new handbook. You will be ready to seek input from various stakeholders throughout your organization (for example, the IT department or the operations department), to help make the best policy choices from the options available in the MEA template.
Three business days later, we will reconvene for Day Two of the workshop. This is a two-hour session during which you can ask any questions generated from the information gathering you did after Day One. MEA’s compliance experts will guide you through any remaining decisions to help you complete your customization of the template handbook.
Optional Follow-up Sessions:
“Let’s Get it Done” — Most questions will be resolved on Day Two of the workshop, but in case any lingering questions remain, we will offer two one-hour Zoom sessions (which are open to all participants). The sessions will take place on Wednesday, February 24 & Friday, February 26,12:00 PM - 1:00 PM and provide an opportunity to resolve any small outstanding matters.
